A Study on Effect of the Psychological Empowerment and Job Satisfaction of Caregivers of Domiciliary Care Centers on the Quality of Long Term Care Service

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the psychological empowerment and job satisfaction of caregivers of domiciliary care centers on the quality of long term care service. To achieve the goal, a survey research was performed for 284 caregivers in the Chungcheongbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do province of South Korea. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis, and sobel test. The psychological empowerment that caregivers recognized turned up the average 3.59 points of the 5 point scales and Job satisfaction turned up the average 3.20 points of the 5 point scales, and the quality of long term care service turned up very high, the average 4.57 points of the 5 point scales. That is, the higher psychological empowerment of caregivers was, the higher the quality of long term care service was. The psychological empowerment was more important than job satisfaction for the quality of long term care service in resulting from regression analysis. Also, the job satisfaction was partial mediated between psychological empowerment and the quality of long term care service. For the improvement of the quality of long term care service, I suggest that we should secure the fairly discretion and self-autonomy to strengthen psychological empowerment, and we should establish the communication system for raise job satisfaction to improve the adequate wages adjustment, a welfare program, promotional system construction.
